But who are we separated from? Who is the person on the other side of the wall? When we think of Prisons we can easily envisage a wall and hostility towards those inside. Those who have caused harm or have done wrong. Yet what invisible walls of hostility have we built up in our Society? who do we view as the “other”: Prisoners, Prisoners Families, Communities, Former Prisoners, Addicts… ?

Prisoners Week provides the opportunity to open up a wider discussion on how we view all of those people who are touched by the Criminal Justice System. How can Society, Churches and Individuals break down hostility toward: Prisoners, their Families, Former Prisoners?
